OnVPS is built on the infrastructure of Wowrack’s brand-new flagship datacenter just south of Seattle, Washington. This facility – just opened in September, 2010 – was designed and built from the ground-up to provide the best-of-class operating environment and connectivity.
Environmental Control
The datacenter is engineered to have 80 full air exchanges per hour. So every 45 seconds, the air is fully cycled through the DC. Currently there is a 45 ton Liebert Air Handler CRAC unit that will soon be accompanied by another 45 ton CRAC unit as well as an additional 100 ton Carrier Air-Cooled Chiller Unit. On the exhaust side, we’ve got two gigantic fans capable of pushing 70,000 cubic feet per minute.
Power
Emergency Power is provided by our Toshiba 300KVA UPS. This is currently the best UPS on the market, capable of running at over 96% efficiency. That’s backed by our 1000 kilowatt Caterpillar generator. Each rack has its own PDU with remote reboot capabilities & built in alarms for potential power overload.
Network Infrastructure
Our network infrastructure is unparalleled. Our core routers are two Cisco routers (one active and the other a hot failover using VRRP) to ensure no interruption in connectivity. In addition, we’ve got a cold standby at the ready incase there are any problems. Our upstream links are all fiber and our total Internet uplink capacity is more than 15Gbps.
Security
Our secure facility is only accessible with an access card. Each and every rack – from our full 72u racks down to our 1/8th racks have their own lock. The datacenter is monitored at all times by video.

We’re listening to feedback and working to integrate the features you want to see in your VPS.
One of the biggest feature requests we got just after launching was the ability to add additional IP addresses. So we put our heads together and came up with a way to provision additional IP addresses on demand.
So when you’re ready to add that second, third or eighth IP address, just add it. The process is almost instantaneous & only requires about 30 seconds of down time while the system is rebooted. You can do it anytime you want from your control panel.
